Features
Without question Echolab's Nova 1416 (formerly known as the id4) is the most elegant and powerful 1ME, SDI switcher in the world today.
Our industry leading System on Chip architecture assures you of a technological platform that will be as relevant and commanding in future years to come as it is now.
Given its impressive standard feature set, the Nova 1416 can only be compared to switchers that are twice its price. It has a set standard of 16 Inputs and 16 Outputs (SDI Format ).
Included as standard:
1 ME SDI Production Switcher 16 In / 16 Out SDI Nova Opera Chassis 10-bit 4:2:2 (NTSC / PAL) 6 Keyers 4 Chromakeyers 5 Pattern Generators 2 x 2D-DVEs with Rotation 12 TIMED AUX / PRG, PRV & Clean Feed 2 Matte Generators 2 DVE Border Generators Frame Buffer (with Alpha Channel Support) Graphics Conversion / Photoshop Import Ethernet Connectivity Full Tally & GPIO identity 4 Look Ahead Preview Panel Fits inside a Standard Rack
The Nova 1416 is based around the popular identity 4 panel that has industry standard "look ahead' preview architecture. The system is broadcast quality 10-bit NTSC / PAL Serial Digital Video and offers unprecedented ease-of-use and familiar operation.
The sleek identity 4 panel fits in a standard rack, is perfect for all production environments and in particular space-limited operations including flight packs and OB vans.
Video Layering The Echolab Nova 1416 has six keyers for unprecedented layering in a switcher of this size. This offers amazing power in terms of creative control. Four upstream effects keys support luma, chroma, & preset pattern keys. Two of the four effects keyers have integrated DVE' s. Two downstream keyers allow title keying for graphics, logos, and bugs. Both background and key transitions can be set up and previewed with Echolab' s complete look-ahead preview system. Transitions include dissolves and a rich library of over 600 wipe patterns.
Nova 1416 Features: Nova 16 x 16 SDI, fixed I/O Chassis
The most important development of the Echolab Nova Series of SDI Video Production Switchers is that it is virtually a complete 'system on a chip' solution. The compact switcher's engine is a single Xilinx Virtex-II Pro chip which is feature-driven through Echolab proprietary firmware. It is perfect for small studios, ideal for OB Vans and highly portable for almost any type of production environment from control rooms to classrooms. Single chip architecture also means low power consumption, extremely quiet operation, far fewer points of failure due to the massive reduction in overall required parts, and no added thermal intrusion to your rack.
Inputs and Outputs 16 In / 16 Out SDI
All inputs must be genlocked to the same system timing as the switcher. Input timing has a +/- 18 microsecond timing window, so additional timing adjustments are not necessary.
All inputs may be mapped to any panel crosspoint using the configuration file. In addition to external inputs, Nova has two color matte generators, one frame buffer, and two alpha frame buffers (for organic wipes) that may be accessed by crosspoint.
